Occasionally the Stearns Race Management Team and/or volunteers fail to collect a timing chip at the finish line.  In the event this happens,  we ask you to take a look below at the different kind of timing chips and take the appropriate action.

Different Kind of Timing Chips

Bib Chip - These chips are attached to the back of your race bib and they are disposable. There is no need to return them.

Black Timing Chips – These chips need to be returned to Stearns Race Management.  The Race director will either cover the cost of replacing them or bill you the cost of replacing them ($25.00 - $30.00 each).
To Return, enclose in bubble wrap and place in padded envelop and mail to:

White Timing Chips – These chips are disposable, there is no need to return them. we use these chips at our larger races for a number of reasons.  We can recycle them, so,  you may return them if you like or drop them off at the next race we are timing,

Yellow Timing Chips – These chips are the runners own chips, they own these chips and never have to return them. If you have a yellow chip, your chip code remains in our system and you never have to wait in the chip line on race day. Yellow chips can be purchased for $25.00.
